CCS-CCUS Mission for Decarbonization
Carbon Capture Storage, Carbon Capture Utilization Storage Mission
CCS-CCUS Mission for Decarbonization is a joint efforts with mission promote ambitious action to reduce carbon emissions in industry, while its opportunities are growing with the emergence of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCS-CCUS) technology. The technology captures CO₂ from industrial processes or the air/atmosphere, uses some of it for products such as synthetic fuels, bio-technology Carbon Capture, and or stores it underground. The IEA’s 2024 report estimates that by 2030, approximately 435 million tonnes of CO₂ could be captured annually, with storage capacity reaching 615 million tonnes per year. Currently, more than 40 large CCS-CCUS facilities worldwide capture approximately 45 million tonnes of CO₂ per year, but this figure needs to be increased to meet decarbonization targets of SNDC 2030 and NZE 2050.
Vision, decarbonization is an industrial inevitability at the energy transition.
